Hi, I’m Olivia, the hands and heart behind by olivia mae.

Born in Colorado, raised in San Clemente, California, and now living in Texas, I’ve always been shaped by the places I call home and the places I find myself along the way… those of which find their way into my work.

I’m a self-taught silversmith, and what started as a COVID hobby quickly became something I couldn’t imagine my life without after I impulsively ordered a starter-kit on Amazon in my lockdown boredom. I had not a clue what I was doing, but I was hooked. For years, I knew this was something I wanted to pursue in some capacity but figuring out what that actually looked like took a good chunk of time and a lot of overthinking.

After years working in the cultural exchange industry, I finally decided to trade my stable remote job for my little studio.. of course with plenty of encouragement from my husband, friends, and family along the way.

These days, you’ll find me five days a week in my little studio on our property just west of Austin, Texas, making sterling silver pieces all by hand. My work is inspired by organic textures, imperfect details, and the idea that the best things in life only get better with a little wear and a lot of living.

When I’m not making a mess in the studio or cheffing up something in the kitchen, I’m probably yapping to anyone who will listen about my ten hens and two dogs, fly-fishing, surfing, attempting to garden in the Texas heat or seeking out yet another new hobby… as if I have the time or money.
